Flashback: Hans Rosling – The Best Stats You’ve Ever Seen (TED2006)

April 27, 2020 by No Comments

Hans Rosling was a Swedish physician and a fanatic about data, which is something that we’re a bit in love with here if you haven’t noticed.

He was also an academic and the Professor of International Health at Karolinska Institute.

In pursuing his passion for data he co-founded, and was the chairman of Gapminder Foundation, which developed the Trendalyzer software system.

When people hear the word “stats” they usually get a picture similar to that of a boring teacher with glasses just droning away about numbers and percentages, but Hans Rosling has a way with data that made it fun.

With more than 14 million views on his original TED Talk in 2006, titled the best stats you’ve ever seen, and more than three million views on his video on the TED YouTube video, I wanted you to experience data through his eyes.

I hope you enjoyed watching the video, and I hope you can begin to see why we are so excited about data here, and just how much it impacts our world.

See you in my next post!
